The trek is moderately challenging, with a 3 km uphill trail that takes about 1.5–2 hours. A basic level of fitness is recommended, but the pace is manageable with rest stops.
Yes, it’s safe when accompanied by a licensed guide. You will be provided with a gas mask to protect against sulfur fumes. Descent into the crater is optional and depends on safety conditions.
Wear warm clothes (jacket, gloves, beanie), trekking shoes, and bring a small backpack, water, snacks, a camera, and personal medication. A gas mask and flashlight are provided.
You will arrive back at your hotel between 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (WITA), depending on traffic and your location in Bali.
The tour is not recommended for children under 10, the elderly, or those with respiratory or heart conditions due to the strenuous hike and exposure to sulfur gases.
